April Fools Jokes

For the most part, yesterday’s blogging April Fools jokes were pretty lame. There were bears for OS11, Apple switching to a Linux kernel, Leopard delays caused by switching to using entirely Ruby on Rails, and even the discovery of a mummified ferry in England just to name a few. It was awfully hard to get any real news yesterday.

The overall winner of the day was in my opinion, the massive adoption of new and original logos for many websites and blogs. The first to catch my eye was over at Snook:

Later I realized that this joke was being played on Dan Cederholm all over the internet:

Fortunately Cederholm thought the whole gag was pretty funny. (If you’re confused about why this is funny, read this) Cederholm’s post includes a link to a comprehensive list of all the participating sites.

Unfortunately, as I’m writing this, I realize that the joke is over and none of these sites have their new original logos posted. Oh wait…there’s Flickr:
